AIDS in Nigeria: "Vivian Nyoko wears a low cut white top and tight denims as she perches on a dirty plastic chair outside a bar on a potholed rubbish-strewn dirt road in central Abuja, trying to lure clients...

"Of course I am scared of Aids. But what am I to do?" Nyoko says, sipping from a beer bottle... "Of course I must make sure that men wear condoms when we have sex. Some men don't want to wear a condom, but then I fight them - I am not stupid, I am not going to kill myself."

The government is largely to blame for the situation. poverty abounds because the nation's wealth has not been evenly re-distributed.the result is what we are now witnessing in social upheavals,religious tension and HIV scourge. But the menace of HIV has been overblown owing to the large population.what we should be talking about is public enlightenment and other preventive measures.

Africa is really the continent touch by AIDS. Population have to be inform about this and all the protections existing. The more difficult is to persuade people to use condoms...
