Comments: Live sound from the demonstration police fired on

If you want to improve the sound quality of your recording you could try to use the filters in GoldWave. Look under Effects > Filter > Noise Reduction or LowHigh Pass.

I recommend filtering a few short extracts, at different settings, in order to get the level of filtering which does a good enough job but doesn't make the speech inaudible.

You can also save the filtered file as an MP3 in mono but at highish quality...

Could do! But both files are listenable to - with broadband I recommend the wav (a 2minute download), with a modem use the MP3...

David, I quite understand... I didn't bother to filter the Oxford Earth Summit's talks either... although I did have to edit out a lot of loud bangs and libellous comments!

I found Goldwave, and it's plug-ins, most handy for editting and converting wav files into mp3s. I really HAD to do this as the summit's .wav files were truly vast! As mp3s they just about work down a phone line... Matt @ www.earthsummit.info
