Comments: Robert Mugabe - hero of WSSD!
How can any non-Zimbabwean, non-Mugabe supporter applaud Robert Mugabe? The hypocrisy beggars belief.

If they were amused by Mugabe's speech then I guess these journalists would find his torture of opposition journalists and MDC supporters and the campaign of systematic rape of those who voted for the opposition, absolutely hysterical.
What a disgrace. These journalists should talk to the thousands of Zimbabweans who live in fear daily of Mugabe's thugs. Maybe they wouldn't be so amused if they ventured out to get the real story.

He mighty be crazy but the man has some good facts aganaist the so called west. I would like if you can show us the whole speech maybe people might understand where Mugabe is coming from. I don't like Mugabe at all but a fact is a fact.I wish he would do as he say. Zimbabwe would be a pretty country.

A big applause to the real revolutionary. Land that was taken through arms on the defenceless should return to the rightful owners to sustain themselves.

All I can say is that Helen Clark Primeminister of New Zealand did things right... she refered to Mugabe in a round about way and achieved the esteem of one of the people who least likes her in New Zealand... she said 'as we speak 13000000 global citizens to our North are starving because of government failiure' or something like that and she is right. Mugabe needs to watch his mouth for Ms Clark packs a formidible punch when she wants to.

It would be interesting to actually read what Mugabe has said to the whole world with regards to the land issue in his speech. I am of the opinion that there is a seriuous land problem in Africa innitiated by colonialism. It is a problem that might affect the whole of Africa either negatively or positively depending on the way it is approached.
What i do not seem to understand is the way he deals with it. It is as if hes condones lawlessness. Please let us have the speech posted on your website. Thank you

bob is not extreme enough.his war cabinet is incompetent.he should surround himself in government with capable technocrats(business,education,technology...).zanu pf should keep its revolutionary stance, they are the holders of the light, illuminating africans.also i enjoy bob's rhetoric thouroughly.ps::i did not vote for him though.

The president seems fearless and unconcerned about how the "west" might react to his speech. Why should he care though. This country has been doing without foreign aid for quite a number of years now.
Perhaps it is indeed time for us to do things our own way and not subscribe to these "global" solutions.
I am not ashamed to say I am sometimes proud of Bob. this is one of those times. If only you were much younger Bob; I would vote for you in the next presidential election.

Whatever Mugabe's speech was all about made people talking. I think whatever he has in mind about his plan for his Zimbabwe might work the hard way for the people of Zimbabwe. I did not hear much of the speech. I would really like to have the speech. May you please send me the speech if you have it.

Mugabe always manages to hit the right code with his cry of, "land for the poor Africans", but for your own information, Mugabe's war right now is not so much against the whites as it is against his own people, the very "Africans" he claims to be promoting. NO DOUBT there is a land issue in Zimbabwe (and many other African countries) but whatever one's political leaning, there was NO NEED to bring the country to its knees (politically, economically and socially) in the process of "re-dressing" the land inequalities. The man has just managed to get political mileage (and immunity) out of a genuine problem in Zimbabwe.
